Spelman Speaks Up

#SpeakUP!

Tell someone you trust if you are a survivor of violence, get help needed to heal. Sometimes the fear of not being believed cripples us to sharing our story with others. Speaking up helps to remove the shame. If you are a survivor of violence you have no reason to be ashamed, you did not do anything wrong and we believe you.

#SpeakOut!

#SpeakTruth!

Acquire knowledge about what is sexual and gender based discrimination and violence. We often perpetuate myths which marginalize survivors of discrimination and violence. Take time to get educated so you can be empowered and informed about the realities of sexual gender based violence.

#SpeakNOW!

If you see something do something, now. Don’t wait until a situation is an emergency. Do not be a passive bystander, say something when someone uses homophobic language, take care of a friend who has had too much to drink.
